Quoting, Invoicing & job costing software for electrical, industrial and mining contractors & consultants
Run the whole job - and everyone on it. Manage your enquiries, quotes, site hours, invoicing and retention from one single record. Built specifically for South African plant, mine and factory contractors.
Your subcontractors work that same job from their own accounts, so their part arrives as part of the job, not as a price on WhatsApp you have to retype.
- Free plan, no card needed
- First quote in an afternoon
- Built for plant, mine and factory work
Industrial estimating software that prices jobs in under an hour, not weeks.
Large quotations used to take a contracting team three weeks per job. On Quotier they are built in under an hour - and everyone on the team can see exactly where each one stands.
3 weeks under 1 hour
To build a large quotation, from first line to ready to send.
The rates, crews, products and difficulty are already in your catalogue, so the quote prices itself as you add lines. Nobody rebuilds a spreadsheet, and nobody waits for the one person who knows how the markup works.
Everyone sees it.
Draft, in review, approved, sent - on one board.
Estimators, reviewers and owners work the same quote, not copies of it. Every quote's status and assigned reviewer sit on one board, and every revision stays on record - so "where's that quote?" never needs a phone call.
Build your master price book once. Quote accurately forever.
Your standard jobs become actions with their standard crews - add "Supply, install and gland" and the labour lines fill themselves in. Products carry cost, purchase quantity and markup, so the selling price is calculated, not remembered.
Packs drop a whole kit onto a line in one click, and difficulty levels price confined-space or underground work the same way every time. Update a rate once and every future quote uses it - while every sent quote keeps the prices your client saw.
A product can bring its own crew - 0.08 h per metre of cable, two labourers - so the labour arrives with the cable instead of from memory.
You choose how much of the make-up each customer sees: totals alone, full scope unpriced, or every rate - and you can print a labour summary, person-hours per trade, for the permit office.
Renegotiated a price on this quote? When you send, Quotier offers to push the new cost and markup back to the catalogue.
New action
The admin eats your evenings. Then it eats the margin.
Ask three estimators to price the same job and you'll get three different numbers. The sub's price lands on WhatsApp and gets retyped, a formula breaks in row 214, and six weeks later nobody can say what was sent.
Quotier fixes that. Your pricing lives in one catalogue, built once - quotes assemble from lines, and the maths freezes the moment you send. Then the job keeps its own score, so "did we make money?" is answered on the job.
What we're building for: 98 out of 100. Put a hundred estimators on the same job and ninety-eight should hand you the same total. Same catalogue, same rules, same arithmetic.
- Three estimators, three different prices for the same job
- Markups and labour lines forgotten in the rush: margin gone before work starts
- The sub's R203 500 retyped as R230 500 - and out the door to the client
- Retention withheld on every draw, and chased from memory a year later
- "Did that job make money?" Answered at year-end - a spreadsheet is free the way an uninsured bakkie is free
One central job card for every enquiry, quote and invoice.
An enquiry becomes a quote, a quote becomes a job, and everything after lands on that job - the programme, the hours, the diary, the draws, the orders, the receipts, the release. Numbered, dated, and answerable six weeks later.
One record carries its enquiry (E-), every quote and revision (Q-), the job number itself (J-) and each variation on it, every invoice and the retention that invoice withheld (INV-), and every purchase order raised against it (PO-). One numbering, one thread.

-
E-0733
It starts as an enquiry.
Witbank Colliery asks for a price on a conveyor drive upgrade. The enquiry is numbered the day it arrives - our reference, printed on its own line beside theirs - and everything that follows hangs off it.
-
Q-0512 Rev 2
The quote is priced from the book.
Lines assemble from your catalogue and the maths freezes the moment you send. Rev 2 is a new document and Rev 1 stays on record. The customer marks it accepted with their order number; you record the acceptance.
-
J-0310
Acceptance makes it a job.
The enquiry becomes J-0310 without losing E-0733. Standing time on the second day is priced as a variation - J-0310-V1 - and accepting it raises what the job can bill.
-
INV-0359
Draws come off the job, net of retention.
A 40% progress claim on the R612 400.00 job is R244 960.00. At 10% retention the invoice bills R220 464.00 and R24 496.00 stays held - until the release invoice brings it in.
-
PO-0042
What you buy is bought against what you quoted.
The cable on the quote becomes the cable on the buy-list, the purchase order you raise for it, and the supplier's invoice you log when it lands: Ordered, Received, Invoiced, on one card.
Multi-company quoting & subcontractor collaboration
Big plant and mine work is never priced by one company alone. Every contractor quotes its own share, from its own account, and shares it up the chain at the level it chooses: total only, line titles, or full prices. With Quotier's subcontractor collaboration, every contractor quotes its own share from its own account, and those shares roll up into one quote for the client.

The guarantee
Your prices never leave your organisation unless you explicitly share them - and you choose exactly how much.
The site, on the record.
Once a quote is accepted the job page grows the tabs the site needs. The programme comes off the quote, the hours come back against it, the diary turns standing time into a variation, and the registers answer what a mine's safety officer actually asks.
The tabs on an awarded job. A tab you're not entitled to isn't greyed out - it explains itself, or it isn't there.
Financials
Quotes, variations, invoices, cashflow, orders and expenses, in the order the money actually happens. The contract ledger states what was agreed, what you have invoiced, what is held as retention and what is still outstanding - and those four always reconcile.
A draw that would bill past the agreed total is refused, not warned about.
Programme
Laid out from the accepted quote on your own working calendar: Monday to Friday by default, Saturdays if you switch them on, and the shutdown dates you type in. The day-one plan is kept beside the current one, so slippage is a number rather than an argument.
Pin the client's fixed shutdown window and nothing else on the programme may move it.
Time
A week grid per job: one person, one day, one trade. Quoted hours read back against actual, by trade and by line, so you find out you are over while there is still a job to fix it on. A split shift is two rows, and a casual hand is a crew member like anyone else.
A day over 24 hours is flagged, never blocked - refusing the capture only loses the data.
Certificates
The certificates the job produced, each with its number, its date, who issued it and the scan attached to it. What kind it is stays free text, because naming a statutory section would be a legal claim this app does not make.
Quotier records that a certificate exists and when - never what it says, and it never generates one for you.
Plant
Which job the compressor is on, who signed for it and when it came back.
No rate and no amount anywhere on it. It reaches no cost figure, so everyone on the job can read it - viewers included.
Safety
An incident register from near miss to lost time, recording what happened, what you did about it, and whom you notified and when.
Whether something is reportable is your call, never ours. There is no injury or diagnosis field anywhere in it - health information is special personal information under POPIA.
Documents
A document manager on every job: folders, breadcrumbs, drag and drop, and up to 2 GB a file for the drawings nobody can email.
Every upload is checked before anyone can download it.
Shared documents
One bounded space around this job that the other companies on it can open, sitting beside your own private drawer.
The shared space is this job alone. It never reaches your catalogue, your rates or your other clients.
Collaboration
Who else is on the job, what they have shared up the chain, and at which level they chose to share it.
Bill a milestone and their matching invoice is raised down the chain as a draft - Quotier never issues a document in somebody else's name.
Ask every supplier. Use the best price. Win the job.
It has never been easier to keep track of which suppliers you asked for a price - and to win the job on the best of their answers.
Pick the items on your quote and the suppliers to ask, and each supplier gets a request of its own: a PDF, the list to paste into a message, or an email straight from Quotier. One register shows who was asked for what, who has quoted, and who doesn't stock it.
Add each supplier's quote as it comes in - their prices, with their PDF attached - and Quotier suggests the best price for every item, even when that splits the list across three suppliers. Where a supplier priced more than you'll buy from them, it draws up a revised bill of materials with just their items, ready to send for a revised quote.
"Use these quotes" puts those prices on your quote, with your markup and labour on top, and every line shows the make and whose quote its price came from - so you always know which supplier priced what on the quote your customer asked for.

Guardrails for the team, without slowing anyone down.
Owners and admins set the price book. Estimators quote from it fast, but can't quietly change a rate. Sharpening a price to win a job is allowed - and flagged. Viewers never see a cost, a markup or a margin.
- One approved price book: estimators can't edit rates or markups
- Line overrides allowed, and visibly flagged as custom
- Owner, Admin, Estimator, Viewer - each sees exactly what they should
- Cost, markup and margin: owners, admins and estimators. Viewers never.
- A full audit trail: who built, sent and accepted, and when
